Many people are unaware that the 7 and 7+ series are not identical. I've seen comments stating that the 7 Gen 3 is not the successor to the 7+ Gen 2. However, Qualcomm states that the 7 Gen 3 is indeed the successor to the 7 Gen 1. Furthermore, Qualcomm is set to release the 7+ Gen 3, which will be the successor to the 7+ Gen 2. I hope this clarifies any misconception.

The sd 7 gen 3 is the same makeup as the 8 gen 3. It's performance core and other cores set up slightly different. But it's performance is remarkable and mocks the 8 gen 3 and if they can do that while knock down cost. Well hell. I'm all for it.

No, it's happening again. Now, Qualcomm is producing subpar processors and MediaTek has released a chipset, the MediaTek 8300, that could disrupt the market. So, Qualcomm will have to create a chipset that rivals MediaTek. I predict a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 that might perform equally or slightly worse than Gen 2.

Even if it's slower than the 7+ Gen 2, it's faster than any other 700 series chip, besides the +Gen 2. If devices that use this chip sell at a cheaper price, then it's a good deal. The performance of the 778G was on par with, if not better than, the Snapdragon 855. I hope the 7Gen 3 can offer performance similar to, or better than, the Snapdragon 865.

Certainly, it's weaker, of course. It even uses a weaker GPU. It's supposed to be weaker since these are mid-range SoCs, unlike the 7+ gen 2 which was a downclocked 8+ gen 1. Devices with this SoC will sell at cheaper prices than the ones with 7+ gen 2.

Masked, Love your comment. He knows his Snapdragon chipsets and stuff. And he's absolutely right 7+ gen 2 was an underclocked version of 8+ gen 1.... and now with the sd 7 gen 3 being the exact same as the sd 8 gen 3 in terms of all cores present in the 8 gen 3 are present in 7 gen 3 but there will be downclocking , underclocking or less power given. Whatever you wanna call it. It's just simply put they'll just run on different frequencies than the 8 gen 3. But have almost identical performance

Masked, Wouldn't it be nice to consider that the next flagship mid-range CPU, competing against the Dimensity 8300, will be a downclocked version of the 8 Gen 2, labeled 7+ Gen 3?

Deliond, The 7+ Gen 3 will be a streamlined version of the 8 Gen 3, boasting a CPU stronger than the 8 Gen 2 (likely comparable to the performance of the A17 Pro). However, it will come with a GPU weaker than the 8 Gen 2, its performance possibly similar to the 8300 Ultra.

So according to some Antutu tests, it is nearly as powerful as the Snapdragon 888 in GPU power (faster than the 870 graphics). CPU is a match for the 888, consuming half the power. It's pretty good stuff if you ask me. I've seen the Honor 100 running Genshin and Honkai like a champion with this SoC. For midrange, it will be plenty of power and way better than 695, 778, and its variants and even the recently announced 7s Gen 2 which is just a reskinned 6 Gen 1. Hope it gets widely distributed in 2024.People need to get over the 7+ Gen 2. At least get over about wanting it to be on more cheap phones like the F5. POCO does it with their compromises, but for other manufacturers, it is bad business. The chip is too good for their interests, and having it more widespread would keep their flagship market segments alive. That is why after almost a year we only saw two phones with it and they were released basically at the start when it was announced. Sad stuff because it is amazing, but too good to be true.

Jerem06, The 7+ Gen3 is anticipated to be as fast as the 7+ Gen2 but at a more affordable cost. That's it. This, of course, hinges on whether MTK decides not to reuse the 8300 for the 8400 model, in which case they might just increase the clock speed or add more GPU cores.

Firstly, the 7s Gen 2 should not be faster than the 7+ Gen 2. But now, there is another model that's even weaker than both of them. It seems like Qualcomm made a big mistake when they released and named a flagship chip as a midrange one, with a midrange price to match. The 7+ Gen 2 is faster and more efficient than most chips on the market. It almost seems as though Qualcomm wasn't thinking clearly when they released this range.

Zero, If the 7+ Gen 3 manages to outshine the 8300 and then the 8400 comes out at a competitive price, the 7+ Gen 4 will eventually follow, aiming to outperform it. The cycle will continue like this. MediaTek has become a substantial rival, forcing Qualcomm to release better SoCs. In my opinion, MediaTek and Snapdragon are likely to outdo each other. This competition benefits the consumers of either of these two SoCs. Personally, I don't mind.
