How We (Carefully) Decide What Bikes To Sell
Typical of a new market, many retailers are selling e-bikes that don’t last. It’s an understandable oversight because a lot goes into it. We invest heavily to make sure everything in our catalog will hold up as a lasting, smart investment.

Chris (our founder) travels across Europe, Asia, and the US, attending bike shows, meeting with manufacturers, and visiting production facilities.
Taking The Long View
We evaluate manufacturers’ & components over the course of years. This includes monitoring forums, our repairs, manufacturers support & production processes, and continiously checking in with customers.
Standing Firm
Our never-ending research has revealed certain standards that we are committed to. If the components, build quality, or manufacturer support don’t meet those standards, we simply won’t sell the bike.

Our service team is exclusively reserved for Propel customers to keep our response times lightning quick. Wherever you live, whatever service needs arise, we’re prepared to help.
Like Any Other Bike
Overwhelmingly the maintenance required will be no different from that of a regular bike. If you don’t live near us, rest assured any local bike shop can handle it. The e-bikes we sell have a dramatically lower cost of ownership because their electrical components almost never malfunction.
For The Rare Curveball
For the first six months we cover all costs of warranty repairs – shipping, return shipping, labor, parts – even when the manufacturer doesn’t reimburse us. Whether you live close by or far away, regardless of when you purchased from us, you’ll always have access to our service team. We’re only a phone call or email away and have yet to encounter an issue we couldn’t solve.
Our Job: Match You With Your Perfect E-Bike
Of the thousands of e-bikes we’ve sold, less than 1% of the time has a refund or exchange been requested. Our matchmakers take the time to drill down into every customer’s specific needs. After that, thanks to their deep product knowledge, the best e-bike is usually pretty obvious.

Meet Chris Nolte, Propel’s Founder.
After returning from serving in Iraq with a back injury, Chris struggled to stay active until he discovered e-bikes. Recognizing their potential to transform transportation as we know it, Chris founded Propel Bikes in 2011 and has dedicated his life to making that a reality.
