RE-VC:
I've included the Open-Source re-implementation of the Renderware executables for GTA-VC, you'll get far better performance out these files in game than in the (Defecation Edition) of the classic trilogy, well atleast for two of them in this case.

INSTALLATION:

Install the content for GTA-VC from the install images, don't forget to mount them or burn them to a CD/DVD prior to installation in Windows or any LINUX distribution using WINE to play the game, then after that, extract and copy/cut the contents of the REVC zip archive and paste them into the Game install location, then play and have fun. :)

Tips:
Don't use the following keyboard shortcut 'CTRL+C' in REVC, the action camera is buggy and completely useless, the shortcut normally corresponds to copying text, don't use it in REVC, EVER!

To use this under WINE in Linux:

You must install 'wine-staging' prior to playing GTA-VC in a UNIX environment under WINE and whilst you have wine installed replace the base package called 'wine' with 'wine-staging' as the staging version is optimized for gaming. Using the terminal in Linux, install 'winetricks' and with your prefix of your wine installation and type in dxvk along with prefixed wine installation.

How and/or what libraries should I use when using or setting up WINE under Linux?
I'm going to help you the user with the syntax of using WINE under Linux so, let's get started with using it.

1.First, you'll need to create the directory where your WINE prefixes will live while using either the Terminal or a DE of your choosing.

2.Read this carefully, create a folder called 'WineNT' using "mkdir /WineNT" under your home directory then cd into that new folder called "/WineNT" to begin creating custom prefixes while with this parent folder.

3. You can start creating the folders where the prefixes will live, let's call these folders "WineNT32" & "WineNT64" respectively as the two integers are self-explanatory in regards, to the architectures.
4. Create and initialize the wine prefixes with as follows: "WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WineNT/WineNT64 wine wineboot -U" this will update/create and check the prefix.

5. To access "winecfg" to define application compat or behaviours, please use: "WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WineNT/WineNT64 wine winecfg.exe", the config app will appear, and you can configure this later at your discretion.
6. Now for the bit you've all been waiting for, time to configure WINE for GTA Gaming. We're going to use Winetricks to configure our prefix to our liking, so let's get started with using Winetricks. (skip to step 7)

7. We'll now use the most common types of libraries that are required for most games to work in WINE under Linux as follows:

"WINEARCH=win64 WINEPREFIX=~/WineNT/WineNT64winetricks xinput dxvk vcrun2019 corefonts tahoma dotnet42 dotnet8 xact xact_64"

8. Once you have installed GTA-VC or GTA3 into your wineprefix, add the executables under the applications tab in "winecfg" of your defined wine prefix and set them as "Windows XP" or "Windows 7" then hit apply, and you're done.

9. While you're using "winecfg", there is a thing on it called "Default Settings" under the applications tab these are globally defined settings defined by the current win-compat layer name and the Libraries tab accessing all the things any Windows game would access under a Microsoft Windows Operating System, except it's under WINE where it's customizable to suit the users needs and wants for certain applications.

10. Pleasemake note, any DirectX9 games that use said API are treated like an OpenGL application under WINE, please make sure you have OpenGL installed along with any dependencies it requires in order to run properly with immediate effect.

11. Some applications are bundled with their own DLL's, please make sure you add the name of the exec first before you add the DLL's and set them as "builtin and native" for each of the applications own DLL's bundled within.

12. Starting a Windows app or game under WINE issimple, once you've familiarized with the syntax of it using a Linux Terminal if you prefer doing it this way though, they're multiple ways of launching a Windows app or game under WINE under Linux, by creating and using a desktop file, using a launcher like Lutris or use the humble Linux terminal to launch it.
13.In order to launch the game or app, you can launch it using a DOS styled syntax, if you're unsure, please read the Wine User Guidethen go to the section called "3.1.1 How to run windows programs from the command line"
14. You can have a look on YouTube on how to use WINE under Linux in video form.
15. If this dosen't help, please refer to the Wine forums or other *nix forums for any assistance.

Installation of libs using winetricks using the correct syntax:
WINEARCH=win<64/32> WINEPREFIX=/home/<username>/<wineprefix_installation> winetricks dxvk

WINEARCH=win<64/32> WINEPREFIX=~/<wineprefix_installation> winetricks dxvk

Please read and keep yourself informed for the sake of application compatibility:
You can read the following at WineHQ for updates on the website:https://www.winehq.org/
or, if you're using Steam or access the SteamDB if your app is compatible with Proton (fork of wine)
