One could say we’re scent-obsessed, stockpiling everything from what we consider some of the best perfumes of all time to coveted date night and intoxicating skin scents. Not a day goes by where we’re not spritzing on something, including at least one of the best new fragrances of 2024. Gucci The Alchemist’s Garden, the Heart of Leo
As an August Leo, I was first drawn in by the name of this Gucci release—but the enticing fruity, smoky scent has made it a mainstay in my fragrance wardrobe. It perfectly balances sweet and acidic (which neatly aligns with Leos) with notes of black currant and frankincense, which has warm, spicy balsamic qualities. —KI

Best Coconut
Kilian Paris Sunkissed Goddess
Picture this: You’re relaxing under a luxe cabana and someone passes you a drink with one of those tiny paper umbrellas in it. That’s exactly how this wearing scent makes me feel: like the decompressed vacation version of myself. Its summery notes of bergamot, tiaré flower, and coconut are not only heavenly but also exactly like the best parts of the beach experience in a bottle. —TD

Since I can’t jet off to a tropical island at the drop of a hat, Jo Malone brings the beach to me. Frangipani, the star of the show, is a floral with buttery qualities, so it feels much richer than typical floral fragrances. This scent transports me to the Caribbean or the exotic island of Bali. —KI

Best Floral Musk
Estée Lauder Estée Legacy Eau de Parfum Spray
I don’t know why this fragrance surprised me so much, but it did. The bottle looks elegant if a little vintage, but the scent inside is clean and cool, with a touch of gourmand sweetness from honey, grounding and warm sandalwood, musk, and amber, sensual jasmine and clove, and feminine ylang-ylang and carnation. Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 Hair & Body Fragrance Mist
Everything Sol de Janeiro makes is truly addicting, but this woody one (a first for the brand) may be my favorite to date. The combination of gourmand—from vanilla and juicy plum—and woody—courtesy of amber and vetiver—feels like someone is wrapping you in a warm hug. —KI

Consider this coveted scent vanilla in two ways: one part the sweet, gourmand note we know and love, combined with another—its specially crafted vanilla tincture India note—that is a bit deeper and more robust.
