Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance is popular for its challenging boss fights and fierce battles, which many players find difficult to overcome. While victory is possible, it often requires a significant investment of time and effort.
Each boss gives you a different level of fighting experience, and several are actually scary to encounter. It's worth noting that some bosses are infamous for their 'fake difficulty,' where they can seemingly spam lethal attacks. Before fighting these enemies, it is crucial to have some idea of what creature you are going to face and how to tackle it.
8 Shohei Yakumo

Shohei Yakumo is a tall and charming figure who can be found in a royal police costume. He might look like a calm person in appearance, but as soon as his katana is out, he becomes a deadly warrior. Yakumo is one of the main bosses in the game, which you will face in Akihabara.
Like many bosses, he can obliterate your entire party, so you have to be careful. He has some AoE Physical spells that you should acknowledge.
While facing Shohei, it is recommended to have demons in your party who are not weak in physical and zio abilities.
7 Arahabaki

Arahabaki has proven to be an annoying foe to many. He, too, possesses the ability to one-shot your entire party. He also summons many demons to distract you, but we recommend keeping your focus on Arahabaki, as the battle will end as soon as you kill him.
To make the fight end quicker, you can debuff him to lower his damage output. This would be beneficial for you if the challenging fight is delayed by any chance. Try to use more fire and ice attacks, as this boss is vulnerable to them. You can also use electric and force attacks.
6 Masakado
![Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked (3) Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked (3)](https://i0.wp.com/static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/masakado.jpg)
Another super boss on the list is Masakado. He is a demon of the hero race and is hard to defeat. There are actually two versions of this boss. The regular version and the one with his true form.
You don’t have to fight the true form at all, as it is a waste of time and would not get you any additional rewards. It is recommended that the regular version be fought as it is the easiest one among all the super bosses. So, simply beat the boss and get the rewards.
5 Satan

Satan is also a super boss who can be found on the path of the Canon of Vengeance. This boss is famous for being tanky, so you are likely to spend a lot of time fighting him. Also, he is super annoying, as Satan can spawn distracting units to make the encounter more competitive,
Later on, he absorbs those demons and uses their abilities to unleash their true powers. You can one-shot the beast if you hit a crit having 175 strength, but that's not that common.
Make sure to have Mara, Demeter, Nahobino, and Cleopatra in your party. You must also fight Satan with the full Magatsuhi bar.
4 Matador

Playing against Matador is always a drag as he truly tests your fighting skills. He is a compulsory boss in SMT 5, so you would have to beat him in order to progress, but he is by no means a pushover.

Here's everything you need to know about recruiting demons in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
Matador is famous for making many players quit the game due to his physical and force attacks that still haunt many. We would recommend not fighting him while being on a lower level.
3 Shiva

Another troublesome boss in the game is Shiva. He is one of the super bosses, so of course, it isn't going to be an easy fight for you. The DLC bosses are arguably harder than the basic ones. However, Shiva has proven to be way more troublesome, and it is totally understandable.
Shva has two allies who fight by his side, Kali and Ganesha. Both of these allies are annoying and get in your way. It is recommended to use a party that can deal with ice and dark damage if you want to beat him down quickly.
2 Lahmu
![Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked (8) Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked (8)](https://i0.wp.com/static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/lahmu.jpg)
Lahmu is easily the second-hardest boss in the game, mainly because of his debuffs. He is one of those bosses who mentally exhausts you, as destroying all of his six tentacles is a hectic task. Lahmu has two phases, and the second one is more challenging, so it is recommended that you take a strong party that can take him down quickly.
The boss also has a special mud debuff that reduces one of your turns from the overall turns. So, try to end this fight before you have to switch out demons for his second phase.
1 Demi-Fiend
![Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked (9) Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Hardest Boss Fights, Ranked (9)](https://i0.wp.com/static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/demi-fiend.jpg)
Demi-fiend is considered the hardest boss in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance, as he can pretty much kill all your Demons. The interesting thing about Demi-Fiend is that his personality is carved in the game according to the decisions you make throughout your journey.
The boss doesn't fight alone and is accompanied by three sturdy demons, Cu Chulainn, Girimehkala, and Pixie, which can become a nuisance to you if you don’t deal with them fast enough.
Pixie is vulnerable to Dark but can withstand Force. Girimekhala is weak against Electric, Force, and Light attacks, but has resistance to Dark, and reflects Physical. Cu Chulainn is vulnerable to Electric, resistant to Physical, and impervious to Force.
