How It Happened
Penn got on the board first thanks to a score from the defense. After a Quaker punt was downed at the Alderson Broaddus three-yard line, the Red and Blue recorded a safety on the AB's first play from scrimmage. The Battler ballcarrier was tripped up in the endzone to give the guests a 2-0 lead.

The Quakers took a two-score lead late in the opening frame, capitalizing on great field position. Following a 19-yard punt return from Tom Rebstock, the Quakers took over at the AB 32. Three plays later, Laquan McKever found paydirt from 11 yards out and a PAT from Bryce Stansfield made it 9-0 in favor of Penn.

Penn stretched its lead to 16 late in the first half on a 15-play, 76-yard drive that lasted nearly seven minutes. On fourth and six from midfield, the Red and Blue ran a successful fake punt as Adrian Montemayor completed a 26-yard pass to Anthony Larry. Andrew Paolini put the exclamation point on the drive as he connected with Ben Klaus for a five-yard TD on third and goal.

Klaus and Paolini were not done as the pair hooked up for another score in the third quarter. The four-yard pass gave the Quakers a 23-0 lead and capped a four-play, 60-yard drive. The big play on the drive was a 42-yard bomb from Paolini to Jake Wang that put the Quakers into the redzone.

Alderson Broaddus was able to break though for its first score of the game early in the fourth quarter. Timmy Tillman threw a 24-yard TD pass Chad Miller to get the Battlers on the board and cut the Penn lead to 16 at 23-7.

Penn answered with another score courtesy of great field position after an interception from Lewis Evans. With the Battlers driving, Evans took Tillman's pass the other way and Penn took over at the Alderson Broaddus 32.

The ensuing drive was all Laquan McKever as he carried the ball three straight plays before finding the endzone for the second time in the game. His plunge from five yards out put the Quakers up 29-7 and a two-point conversion from Ty Scherer to Ben Klaus gave the guests a 31-7 lead with under 10 minutes left in the game.

After forcing a punt, the Quakers were at it once again. It took just two plays, both passes from Paolini to Klaus, to go 56 yards for another score. The pair connected for a 32-yard pitch and catch before Klaus made a highlight reel diving catch on a corner in the endzone. Stansfield's PAT gave Penn a 38-7 lead midway through the fourth.
