Ivaldi's Rusted armor will always be the first thing Kratos loots from the Centre Chamber of Ivaldi's Workshop, either from the many chests or coffins there, or the loot next to Ivaldi's corpse.

Ivaldi's Deadly Mist set is arguably the best armor outside of those that are exclusive to New Game Plus mode. Once fully upgraded, it provides 85 Strength, 68 Runic, 168 Defense, and 50 vitality, along with the familiar Regenerating Essence perk that constantly heals Kratos.

Ivaldi's Armor Set of Deadly Mist requires special ingredients to craft and upgrade, which come from different late-game resources: Mist Echoes, Niflheim Alloy, and Ivaldi's Rusted Armor can all be found in the various chests found in the maze of Ivaldi's Workshop in Niflheim.

Ivaldi's Cursed Mist Armor Set

Kratos must also obtain Ivaldi's Rusted Armor before crafting any Mist set. Crafting the Ivaldi's Cursed Mist Armor Set is possible using: Ivaldi's Bracers of Cursed Mist: 5 x Niflheim Alloy, 1,000 Mist Echoes, and 15,400 Hacksilver.

Once the workshop's unlocked you'll find the pieces of Ivaldi's Rusted Armour, which you can take back to Sindri to make into new armour you can wear and upgrade.

You'll need to find the Niflheim Ciphers to reach the best God of War armor. First you'll need to find all four pieces of the Niflheim Cipher which will let you travel to the Realm of Niflheim, where where you can buy and upgrade the mist armor.

Ivaldi Deadly Mist is a better armor but its useful only for Niflheim grinding. Once you have the Valkyrie armor set and the Sindri armor chest piece upgraded you wont need to invest in anything else.

As good as the other armour is most players agree that the best is Ivaldi's Mist, which comes in a total of three variants. Each of them has regenerating health though, which is hugely useful for fighting Valkyries – not to mention everything else.

The God of War Niflheim Maze only really exists so you can buy its armour, or collect resources to upgrade other gear. The mist armour you can buy here is some of the best in the game and will make it easier to survive the maze, so get some as soon as you can.

Ivaldi's Workshop is also covered in cursed mist and you can only withstand it for so long. Your mist resistance is dictated by a meter at the top of the screen. When it runs out, the mist will drain your health until you die.

Best God of War Ragnarok armor: Berserker armor set

Perks and powers: The Berserker armor set is arguably the best in the game, as it makes Kratos a powerhouse with excellent Strength and Defense in particular.

Niflheim Alloys are found in most Coffins and Legendary Chests that Kratos opens in Ivaldi's Workshop. If he spends long enough in the Workshop, Niflheim Alloys can be found in regular chests, too.
