Maximise your ore gains with our Idleon mining build guide designed for your Warrior classes to increase efficiency in the early game (up to World 3). Regardless of your current progress in Idleon ensuring a steady stream of copper, iron, gold and beyond to fuel your various account upgrades and equipment crafting is a common challenge. With new players constantly stuck on how to mine the next ore in progression this beginner mining guide will help you advance.
With World 3 introducing players to the printer where you can snapshot your mining setup for passive resource printing this guide is intended for players up to this point in progression. Beyond this stage there are so many sources of general skill efficiency and less mining specific optimisation to make that reaching your mining goals will happen naturally as you progress through respective world content mechanics. Guides for all other classes and skills are available on our Idleon builds page.
Table of Contents:
–
– Mining Gear
– Mining Cards
– Mining Alchemy
– Other Mining Build Optimisations
Mining Build Talents (Warrior, Barbarian and Squire)
Warrior class talents are the first element of a mining build and the largest early game impact to increase mining efficiency. They should be utilised as follows in approximate order of priority for tab 1 and tab 2 talents:
Talent | Effect | Notes |
---|---|---|
![]() | Increases skill efficiency | The primary skill for mining efficiency that offers a large percentage increase. |
![]() | Increased skilling AFK gains | Boosts ore gain and experience while AFK. |
![]() | Bonus mining efficiency | Boosts mining efficiency substantially, this must be placed on your attack bar to benefit from the effect. |
![]() | Increases mining power of equipped pickaxe | Increases every 10 levels that make mining levels useful in boosting your efficiency. |
![]() | Increases multi-ore drop chance | Increases the chance of dropping multiple ores that significant improves ore gained. There is also an alchemy bubble and star sign that provide this stat which combined cap at 300%. |
![]() | Increases mining efficiency based on Copper Ore in storage | Holding significant copper in your storage chest translates to mining efficiency although this is generally one of the weaker sources early game as you will have lower amounts of copper. |
![]() | Increases golden food bonuses | Boosts the golden peanut effect which improves efficiency. |
![]() | Increases mining experience gained | Boosts experience gained to improve your mining levels and empower tool efficiency or equip new stronger pickaxes. |
![]() | Increases HP % | An alchemy bubble unlocked in World 2 turns your HP into mining efficiency which this percentage boost improves. |
![]() | Increases HP | Same as above but this is a flat increase to HP. |
![]() | Increases strength | A small boost to mining by increasing your strength. |
![]() | Increases strength | Same as above. |
![]() | Temporarily boosts strength | The first point provides 16 strength making this first point highly effective with future points being equivalent to Fist of Rage or Absolute Unit. |
Tab 3 skills for either Barbarian or Squire should be considered as follows:
Talent | Effect | Notes |
---|---|---|
![]() | Increases sample size (World 3) | With World 3 unlocked this allows you to snapshot a larger amount of your ore gains for automatic printing although does not boost your mining gains while AFKing at an ore node. |
![]() | Increases effect of statues | Boosts the benefit of mining statues that you have accumulated to date that provide mining power. |
![]() | Increases strength | Another source of strength to obtain. |
![]() | Increases strength from obols | Improves the strength gained from obols which is generally quite small and a low priority talent. |
![]() | Gives extra talent points for the Warrior tab (tab 2) | If you need extra talent points in the previous tab this can help you max some of the stronger mining talents above. |
Special Talents should be considered as follows:
Talent | Effect | Notes |
---|---|---|
![]() | Increases away gains for fighting and skilling | The best special talent for away gains and should be maxed first as it can be difficult to obtain this statistic elsewhere. |
![]() | Increases base efficiency for all skills | Available through Party Dungeons this flat boost to your efficiency can be used to help you push early into Iron or Gold ore. Beyond this point it can still help when boosted by % mining efficiency. |
![]() | Increases speed for all skills. | Also from Party Dungeons this skill increases your skilling speed for mining which is great for resources and also earning some of the important cards to boost your mining even further. |
![]() | Boosts AFK gains for attack moves | As Big Pick is considered an active skill you can get the benefit of gains by maxing out this special talent. |
![]() | Boost foods give higher bonuses | While not effective early game to boost mining gains as you progress into W2 and W3 you’ll likely be focused on boost foods and potions to push mining gains further which this skill improves. |
![]() | Stamps giving skill efficiency have higher bonuses | As your stamps reach higher levels this can be a notable boost although before this is not particular powerful. |
![]() | Increased AFK gains rate | A small boost to AFK gains depending on your luck at random event loot. |
![]() | % all stat | A small boost to stat as STR boosts your mining gains that grows increasingly powerful as your account grows. |
![]() | Increased base HP | Boosts the gains from the alchemy bubble that turns HP into mining power. |
![]() | Extra base stat | Place enough points in this skill to match your highest level character divided by 10. For example if you have a level 73 character you want to place 7 points for a small STR boost. |
Mining Gear
Equipment provide some of the largest boosts to mining alongside your talent selection and you should always strive to have the best pickaxe available to you with one for each ore type.
Equipment (Slot) | Effect | Notes |
---|---|---|
![]() | 10% Mining Efficiency | Anvil craft |
![]() | 5% Mining Efficiency | Anvil craft |
![]() | 20% Mining Efficiency | Anvil craft, can be upgraded to Rough Rockers (35% mining efficiency) |
![]() | 15% Skill Afk Gain | Party Dungeons |
![]() | 8% Skill Efficiency | Party Dungeons (Rex Ring) then Baba Yaga drop for upgraded version |
![]() | 10% Skill Efficiency | Gilded Efaunt (W2 Nightmare boss) |
![]() | 3% Skill Afk Gain | Scripticus (W1 town) quest line |
![]() | 20% Food Effect | Picnic Stowaway (W1 Froggy Fields) quest line |
![]() | 2-5% All Afk Gain | Party Dungeons Tier 3 keychain |
Mining Cards
Cards are another central mechanic to tap into to improve your mining gains with sources of afk gains and mining efficiency available here. Players can also pair this with a card set like ‘Easy Resources’ which is a good option due to the skill efficiency it provides. The primary cards to boost efficiency up to World 3 are below, players can also add in card drop rate and mining experience if required and fill any remaining slots with strength or HP.
Card | Effect |
---|---|
![]() | % Total Mining Efficiency |
![]() | % Mining Away Gains |
![]() | % Mining Speed |
![]() | % Total Mining Efficiency |
![]() | % Skill AFK gain rate |
![]() | % Skill AFK gain rate |
Mining Alchemy
Alchemy is the last of the big contributors to your overall mining gains and while small initially continues to grow alongside your account to provide a massive boost. While these are primarily in the orange cauldron there are also some bubbles in other cauldrons with my recommended priority order for bubbles being:
Alchemy Bubble (Number) | Effect | Upgrade Material |
---|---|---|
![]() Blood (Orange #4) | Increase multi-ore chance (must be equipped) | ![]() |
![]() | Pickaxes give more skilling power | ![]() |
![]() | Boosts mining efficiency based on max HP | ![]() |
![]() | Orange passive bubbles give higher bonuses | ![]() |
![]() | Lowers efficiency requirements for skilling quantity drop multipliers | ![]() |
![]() | Attack talents contribute more to AFK gains (similar to Attacks on Simmer talent) | ![]() |
![]() | Total strength (STR) | ![]() |
For alchemy vials that boost mining players will want to unlock the Void Ore vial that provides mining efficiency.
Other Mining Build Optimisation
In order to truly min-max your mining output players will want to use every single Idleon mechanic available. While I’ve covered the largest contributors above when you are looking to progress further you will need to use these options which still contribute to mining gains but require a little extra effort to obtain or provide smaller boosts. These extra mining optimisations include:
- Star Signs
- Food
- Statues
- Stamps
- Post Office
- Obols
- Shrines
- Prayers
Mining Star Signs
Star signs for your Idleon mining build with players equipping as many as possible based on their current maximum star signs. In order of priority I recommend:
- Dwarfo Beadus (+5% Mining Efficiency +20% Multi-Ore Chance)
- The Big Comatose (+2% Skill AFK Gain)
- The OG Killer (+5% Carry Cap +1% Skill AFK gain +2% All Skill Prowess)
Mining Food
Food can often be an overlooked way to gain some efficiency and players should equip the following foods where possible based on availability and number of food slots in this order:
Food Item | Effect | Source |
---|---|---|
![]() | Increases Mining Speed by 15% | Anvil |
![]() | Increases Mining Efficiency | Anvil |
![]() | Increases Max Health | W1 Colosseum or Picnic Stowaway |
![]() | Increases base HP (30) | W1 Shop |
![]() | Increases base HP (120) | W2 Shop |
![]() | Increases base HP (250) | W3 Shop |
Mining Statues
For statues you want to make sure that you give as many to the W1 statue as possible from your miner although from W2 onwards there is an item that allows all characters in your account to share statue progress.
Statue | Effect | Source |
---|---|---|
![]() | Increases Mining Power | Crystal Monsters & W1 trees |
![]() | Increases Base HP | Crystal Monsters |
![]() | Increases Food Bonuses | Crystal Monsters |
Mining Stamps
There are a number of stamps that boost your mining prowess in Idleon where you can invest resources for further gains. The below are the key mining focused stamps and doesn’t include the HP or strength stamps:
Stamp (Tab) | Effect | Source | Resource |
---|---|---|---|
![]() | Mining Efficiency | Mr Pigibank | Oak Logs |
![]() | Multi-ore Chance | Sheepie (W3 Mob) | Thief Hood |
![]() | Mining Efficiency | Snowman (W3 Mob) | Iron Hatchet |
![]() | Food Effect | Papua Piggea Quest | Icing Ironbite |
![]() | Golden Food Effect | Mutton Quest | Golden Nomwich |
Mining Build Post Office
The post office can be a long journey to unlocking boxes for various fighting and skilling character builds. It is still an important contributor though and I recommend you focus on placing your boxes in the following priority order for your primary miner:
Box | Effect |
---|---|
![]() | +% Mining Efficiency +% Prowess Effect +% Mining AFK Gains |
![]() | + Base Max HP +% Max HP |
![]() | +% Health Food Effect +% Boost Food Effect |
Mining Build Obols
Obols are another small boost to mining potential with personal and family obol pages to fill for maximum gains. While you will eventually acquire some sources of AFK gains later in your Idleon adventure during the early game you’ll primarily want to target mining obols that are only available through the alchemy liquid shop.
Mining Build Shrines
Shrines are fairly basic when it comes to mining given there are no direct boosting shrines for mining but there are two available in W3 that provide some benefit while you swing your pickaxe at the ore nodes of the W1 mines.
Shrine | Effect |
---|---|
![]() | Increases Max HP |
![]() | Increases AFK gain |
Mining Build Prayers
There are two prayers available that will benefit your mining gains with Skilled Dimwit being easy to acquire while Zerg Rushogen will take significantly longer as it requires sufficiently levelled wizard towers for the tower defence mini game.
Prayer | Effect | Source |
---|---|---|
![]() | Increased skill efficiency Decreased skill experience gain | Goblin Gorefest Wave 25 |
![]() | Increased AFK gain rate Decrease carry capacity | Goblin Gorefest Wave 121 |
