Since the weather should be cooling down soon, it’s time to start heating up that oven again! I say that as I have ice packs strapped to my head because it’s 100 degrees out! Still, the end is in sight. I love summer, but my dog and I are both ready for this heat wave to end! He’s smart, he hangs out with my son in the one room with AC!

Easy “Meat & Gravy” Homemade Dog Biscuit Recipe

1/2 cup powdered milk
1 beaten egg
2 1/2 cups flour (your choice, whole wheat, regular or even coconut flour)
If you don’t feel like rolling out the dough and cutting it with a cookie cutter, you can also make “drop” biscuits by scooping up a bit of the dough and flattening it a bit onto a cookie sheet.

1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 cup water
6 tablespoons of your favorite gravy
1 jar of baby food meat
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until they form a dough.
Roll the dough out on a well-floured surface until it is about 1/2″ thick
Cut out shapes using your favorite cookie cutter.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Cool before serving. Store in an airtight container.

Is it possible to turn this treat into a hypoallergenic one? For the most part, yes. I say “for the most part,” because it really depends on your dog’s allergies. Below are the most common allergens in this homemade dog biscuit recipe and what you canuse in their place.
Flour– so many possibilities for this one! I listed a few in the recipe. If your dog is allergic to wheat (as many dogs with allergies are), try anything from coconut flour to almond mealand other nut flours will work. They may give the recipe a different consistency and taste, but they’ll work.
Meat Gravy: You can try using vegetable bouillion in its place, but it won’t have that same hearty texture as gravy. Another alternative that I actually found on a site for people trying to eat better (FitDay) offers two alternatives. One, use seasoned yogurt. This works if your dog doesn’t have major dairy allergies. Two, make a gravy-like puree out of veggies!
Baby Food Meat:This one is the easiest. Just grab a jar of baby food veggies. Sweet potatoes work fabulously!
